Most of us know the vague basics about the origins of NASA and the first dude to walk on the moon and all that jazz, but lately, there seems to be a surge of super cool movies and documentaries focused on teaching us everything that we don’t know about early and modern space exploration. And it’s amazing!
For instance, there’s this fantastic documentary series made by CNN that documents all the notable happenings during the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s. One episode during the series on the ‘60s is dedicated to the beginning of our space program, and it really gets in deep. One of the most interesting aspects is how the first astronauts were basically total superstars…they were incredibly smart, courageous, (and handsome) men who at one point were basically like, “yo, get on our level, Elvis” when it came to national fame and recognition. Being able to put a crew of relatable, All-American, smiling faces to this crazy idea of going up in space was largely responsible igniting support and loyalty for our budding national space program. And the rest is, as they say, history.
So this Halloween, launch yourself into that legacy with this White Astronaut Suit! Made of 100% cotton woven poplin fabric, the gleaming white jumpsuit sports a NASA patch on the left breast, an American flag patch on the left arm, and a Space shuttle patch on the right arm. As if that wasn’t enough to make you feel like an authentic part of a starlight crew, it also has narrow orange stripes above each knee. Add our adult astronaut helmet and white costume boots, and your Halloween mission will be “GO” for liftoff!
