Among the many, varied, and amazing heroines of faerie tales, there are many who get overlooked for one reason or another. You’ve got the tiny fairies who people assume can’t do much once they get stuck in a little bird cage, forgetting that they still have loads of magical tricks that they could use to escape something as mundane as some bended metal. (Unless, of course, it was molded of cold iron. We forget that there are some sprites that find that stuff really troubling!) But there is also Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, each of which who seem to only have “being nice” listed among their special abilities and then spend half (or more) of their tales unconscious! (Which, again, we admit doesn’t make them the most heroic of options.)

But, how about Alice? Here we’ve got a gal who is typically understood to just be curious and get herself into a load of trouble until she’s able to get back to her own home. But, Alice is SWOL. Not only does she survive an epic fall down a rabbit hole of crater-like proportions, but she manages to handle dealing with the craziest folks in any world, talks down and escapes a murderous queen, and slays a literal madness inducing dragon monster while wielding an epic vorpal sword. We should never underestimate this lady!

So, when you step into your role with this Storybook Alice costume, you know that you aren’t just donning a pretty blue dress with a back checkered design and demure white apron with faux buttons. You aren’t augmented only by a line of black lace at the hemline and a lovely black bow. Even if you accessorize with the right shoes, tights, young blonde wig, and maybe a stuffed bunny companion, remember, you are Alice… and you’ve slain the Jabberwocky! The rest of the storybook girls should be worshiping you.
