She was first introduced on the show Hercules to satisfy executive producer Rob Tapert’s wish for a dark, tragic – and preferably female – figure to balance out the cheerful, uncomplicated Hercules. At the conclusion of a three-episode arc, the character was supposed to die. But as a character, Xena was so badass that Tapert and his fellow producers that the already-planned Hercules spinoff series was entirely remodeled to feature her!

Made of 100% polyester satin, interlock knit, faux suede and faux leather, this costume sports a faux suede bustier bodice that features gold faux leather shoulder straps and gold cord lacing on the bodice. The red interlock cape fastens to the shoulder straps, and the black satin skirt has brocade ribbon edging, as well as an overlay of faux suede lappets.
