In the classic fantasy tale The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the Lion joins up with Dorothy’s party to seek out the Wizard, in hopes of asking him for some courage. Yeah, yeah, everybody has heard the story before. But does anyone ever stop to ask why a giant, fearsome lion would be afraid of a flying monkey, when he could easily eat one? Perhaps he used to be a tough talking feline, but his temper got him into too much trouble, and now he can’t get mean any more unless it’s for a really good reason. Or for all we know, the land of Oz is just full of scardy cats, and the Lion’s lack of bravery is pretty normal there. It is a story, after all.

At least this means you won’t have to constantly be acting brave when you’re wearing this classic costume! We’ve made the pants and shirt out of soft, tan fleece, and included matching mitts to go with them.
