Gandalf was walking Middle Earth when he was already over 10,000 years old! We’re hoping that when we’re at that age we are even half as fit as he is. Maybe it’s all the walking and slaying of goblins that keeps him so young. Then again maybe he just eats his vegetables every day.

That’s why we know if the big bearded guy comes knocking on our door on some fine Tuesday afternoon, we’re about to into quite a bit of cardio vascular endurance training. He seems to adore taking the most difficult path possible to get where the group is going too. That or maybe it’s just that all of Middle Earth is just impossible to traverse or too dangerous to walk through without being attacked. There’s random mountains everywhere and giant squid monsters in every lake. We’re certain the bunnies and squirrels here are dangerous too. Maybe that’s why old Gandalf travels around so often. Staying in one place is just downright dangerous! That or he could just love the open air.

There’s never really a bad reason to get out and about to maintain your youthful vigor. All you need is a sense of adventure, the right clothing, and maybe a decent walking stick to hit the road.
