Under His Command (Decadence L.A. Book 2)
Highlighted Features
Navy SEAL Commander Flynn Dalton is looking forward to the next chapter in his life. After two decades of active duty, he's home and ready to put down roots. Though his days are spent training new recruits at Coronado Island, his nights finally belong to him. And there's only one thing the commander wants to do: search for his perfect submissive. Too bad the woman he wants to claim is too young, too shy, and too damn vanilla.Systems analyst Cassie Hardwick should have a very busy social life. After all, she works on a naval base surrounded by gorgeous men in uniform. But she's not interested in any of the potential perks of her job because she only has eyes for one man: a powerful, gritty, and unbelievably sexy officer. Unfortunately, Flynn sees her as nothing more than a sweet kid. When her best friend suggests a masquerade party at an exclusive out of town club, Cassie doesn't expect to run into any of her co-workers, let alone the one she's gone there to forget. When the masks come off at midnight, Flynn is more than surprised to discover what he's been searching for-- is definitely not too young or too vanilla--and has been right in front of him all along. This is book two in the Decadence L.A. series but can be enjoyed as a standalone.Publisher's Note: This steamy, adult only romance contains elements of power exchange and sensual scenes. This is a revised and greatly expanded novel-length version of the novella by the same title which was in the USA Today bestselling Hero To Obey anthology. If any of these offend you, please do not purchase.

Of Menus and Mythology: Late Nineteenth-Century Print Graphics
Highlighted Features
This early collection of graphic designs by German artist Franz von Stuck (1863–1928) features images intended for menu cards, wine lists, and other food service applications. Although produced for commercial use, the artist's excellent draftsmanship, clean graphic designs, and imaginative use of mythological subjects signal his later development as a leader of the Symbolist movement.Stuck had just begun to exhibit his paintings during the 1890 publication of this portfolio. The artist was soon to become a founder of the Munich Succession movement, and these graphics exhibit the trained hand of a professional and a foreshadowing of his future work. The images abound in playful cherubs, grinning grotesques, amorous couples in period costume, and other motifs characteristic of the Symbolist preoccupation with eroticism and decadence. Reproduced directly from a rare volume that has been out of print for over a century, 50 plates include line art and employ multiple colors. This new edition offers a splendid combination of traditional academic work with mythic themes and late nineteenth-century graphics that will inspire modern designers, illustrators, and fans of period design work.

Radical Decadence: Excess in Contemporary Feminist Textiles and Craft
Highlighted Features
This pioneering book explores the notion of 'radical decadence' as concept, aesthetic and lived experience, and as an analytical framework for the study of contemporary feminist textile art. Gendered discourses of decadence that perpetuate anxieties about women's power, consumption and pleasure are deconstructed through images of drug use, female sexuality and 'excessive' living, in artworks by several contemporary textile artists including Orly Cogan, Tracey Emin, Allyson Mitchell, and Rozanne Hawksley.Perceptions of decadence are invariably bound to the negative connotations of decay and degradation, particularly with regard to the transgression of social norms related to femininity and the female body. Excessive consumption by women has historically been represented as grotesque, and until now, women's pleasure in relation to drug and alcohol use has largely gone unexamined in feminist art history and craft studies. Here, representations of female consumption, from cupcakes to alcohol and cocaine, are opened up for critical discussion. Drawing on feminist and queer theories, Julia Skelly considers portrayals of 'bad girls' in artworks that explore female sexuality - performative pieces designed to subvert and exceed feminine roles. In this provocative book, decadence is understood not as a destructive force but as a liberating aesthetic.
