When a group of outlaws rides into a new town, they usually expect to see everyone shuttering up their windows and pulling their kids indoors as they trot by. Their first stop is probably going to be the saloon, where they can wet their whistles after a long ride, and prepare for whatever they have planned for these poor townsfolk. Eventually, they are going to see the flash of a sheriff’s badge heading toward them. When that happens, both sides of the law are going to have to decide if standing up to the other is worth the risk. Frontier justice can be quick and ruthless!

If your badge looks like it’s been through a few fights, the bad guys might think twice about standing up to you, and you might just avoid a shootout altogether.
