Women’s Pretty Proper French Maid Costume

Look, we are not trying to be judgmental here. Sometimes everyone needs a little outside help when it comes to tidiness, and the French are notorious for being really really good cleaners (we thought it was food, but apparently not). So we would understand why you hired the French maid to clean the house. It’s just that… the outfit seems, well, not ideal for cleaning, to be polite. Of all the maids we’ve seen over the years, they usually cover more since they’re using cleaning solutions and chemicals that could be bad if they got on your skin. But this maid doesn’t seem at all concerned about that. And here’s another thing: we haven’t actually seen her use any cleaning products whatsoever. So… when is she doing the cleaning?

And not to be a stickler, but things don’t seem all that much cleaner around here. Sure, she carries around a feather duster and occasionally seems to brush it against a lampshade or something, but, has she done anything else? Mostly she seems to breeze into a room and give a soft French laugh, like a giggle, and then she leaves again. And we’re standing there like, hello! You didn’t do any cleaning! Again, we’re not saying this is laziness on her part, or that she’s doing it deliberately. We just think maybe that if you’re serious about having a maid, you’d get someone with a little more work ethic. Did you even check her references? Did she even have references? You just hired her without a background check, didn’t you? Oh well, don’t blame us when your house is still messy!
