Women’s Flirty Nun Costume

We tend to think that a person’s religious beliefs are their own business, so we really don’t like to judge. And it seems like poor form to single somebody out just because they feel that wearing a Women’s Flirty Nun Costume is the next step on their private spiritual journey. Because we’ve done stranger things than that just to change the outcome of certain events on live television!

At least this outfit includes a vaguely pious-looking black veil and a serious-looking embroidered cross motif. That puts it somewhere in religious territory, right? Whereas we’ll do just about anything when our favorite long-suffering sports teams are down to their last shot at victory. 4th and 22 with 15 seconds on the clock? If we have a shot at the playoffs, you might even catch some of us licking an unpeeled orange.

What does that have to do with football? Don’t bother asking: it simply boils down to faith. Some people trust in the ability of out-of-season citrus to decide who catches a Hail Mary thrown in a distant stadium. And some people want to pray the Hail Mary in an unconventional set of vestments. That’s the beauty of choice!

Tomorrow morning, we might rethink our game-day traditions, since we seem to get burned year after year. And someday, one or two nuns might kick their flirty habits and repent. Then again, hope springs eternal! None of us can say what surprises another year will bring.
