No one wants to be “wicked,” but it’s kind of hard to get ahead in life when you’ve got green skin, a distant father, misunderstood talents, and a serious allergy to water.

Even before her big breakout musical, we had alway identified with Elphie. Who else but someone with infinite patience and a heart of gold could put up with living with an army of flying monkeys? They’d always be getting into your fresh fruit and scaring the mailman away. And sure, she could have been a little nicer to Dorothy and her friends, but in Elphie’s defense they were trespassing. Even a wicked witch has a right to a little privacy in her home, after all.
