You know those boxer movies when they drape the flag of the victor’s country over the boxer? It’s a fantastic symbol of overcoming great obstacles to achieve something amazing. It’s a simple but profound statement of celebration after years of being knocked down only to get right back up. It’s a representation of facing adversity and never giving up until you’re the one standing on top.

Let’s celebrate at Pride draped in a flag that has had to face quite a bit of it’s own adversity as it works its way up through each tiny victory on an even larger and more difficult scale. We’ve still got a long way to go of course, but nobody ever said it would be an easy one. Either way one day out of the year let’s be ourselves and have a great time showing our true colors, because we’ve totally earned this one.
