For a long while, we’ve been trying to reclaim the term ‘monster’ and change its public image. So many hear ‘monster’ and immediately think “slimy” or “Aaahh! That monster is literally eating my face!” But, those are just the most popularized images and drastically misrepresent the many monsters who are nothing like those other breeds! Monsters are always judged for their appearance and foul ferocity. It’s an awful stereotype based entirely on a few awful monsters who’ve done some terrible things in the past and any other creature that comes into the world gets blamed for any number of atrocities, whether it crawls, flies, walks, swims, or moves by possessing and riding the skin of mortal vessels!

Well, perhaps that last one is a little more troublesome, but everything can sound scary when taken out of context! “Oh, this piece of cake is going to kill me!” for example? We’ve all thought that, but except for the time that it was a demon-possessed cake that literally grew teeth and leapt off the kitchen counter, we never meant that literally. (And, just for the record, that cake was technically not a monster!) So, with all of that set aside, it is time to shine the light on some of our kinder monsters, our more colorful and delightful creatures, our favorite little beasties. (And, at this point, we should acknowledge that, yes, we are talking about a symbiotic monster that will, indeed, need to ride the skin of your little kiddo…

But, we promise, this Blue Beastie Monster costume is totally innocent and absolutely adorable. The light blue/green ruffle dress has a pink and blue tulle tutu skirt and a blue ruffled top with matching sleevelets. The style-matching monster hood fits comfortably and has adorable googly eyes and stuffed horns that make it look like the goober is eating your kiddo’s head when, really, it’s just riding and getting a good look at the world! Finish the look with some fuzzy monster leggings or team up with others in different sizes or color arrangements and form your own monster squad of squee. Just be ready to explain that the toothy hood is just how the beastie holds on—no actual face consumption occurring!
