We’ve got to hand it Devo. Few bands get us going quite like those guys. Their crazy synth sounds and their clever lyrics just make us want to dance. Some of their lyrics really speak to us, like “giving the past the slip” and whipping the cream before it sits out too long. Those are just plain old good pieces of advice, but we’re not completely cool with ALL of the lyrics from Devo’s “Whip It,” the hit song from 1980. Just listen to the whole part about “stepping on cracks” to “break your momma’s back!” We happen to like our momma, Devo, so we just can’t comply. But we can comply with those fabulous outfits.
