In the Middle ages, the entertainment was rolled all into one job: The Jester. Also known as harlequin, trickster, and comedian, the jester was the jack-of-all trades when it came to entertainment. They told stories, made jokes, sang, maybe even preformed tumbling routines or tricks. So much talent was often wrapped up in very bright contrasting colors.

Which is honestly why we’re drawn to them. Seriously, who do you know that can pull off such a motley outfit? Ridiculously bright colors in geometric patterns that are almost dizzying? Not many can pull that off. You’ve got to have quite the personality to be a jester. You’ve got to roll with the punches. Dish out some scathing jokes. Be witty with your banter. Have a flair for performance.

Or, of course, you could just dress up as a jester. It wouldn’t make you an official jester or anything, but you’d look pretty fantastic! Take our Jingle Jester Costume for example.
